That’s me on the left, the one with shiny head. The chap on the right is Alfred Camilleri, a good friend, and president of the Maltese Wolves fan club.
I was born in Wednesfield in 1973 and in 1984 my family moved to Milton Keynes and my old gold odyssey started by witnessing a 2-1 defeat at home to Ipswich on 23rd November in 1991.
That was the start of travelling back and forth from Milton Keynes to stand on the South Bank in a crumbling post-Chorley apocalypse Molineux .
So, in 1992 I ditched Milton Keynes to move back to my homeland, with my University chosen on the basis that Molineux was on my doorstep.
My season ticket is in the depths of the Steve Bull Stand (that’s my view in the video on the homepage) and after clinching the Championship title, my club are about to embark on the most exciting season in a generation.
I used to blog. A lot. Back in 2006, the Express & Star approached me to be their inaugural blogger and I wrote a blog which went live online every Friday on the newspaper’s website. That’s where the likes of Alfred above and many others would comment on the blog.
It created debate; split opinions and the odd bit of abuse flew my way. And I loved it.
I wrote the blogs for the E&S for three seasons, until at the start of the 2010/2011, when a certain Mr Tim Spiers came along to take over the blog and his journey with the newspaper continues to this day.
I went on to write an online Wolves blog for Shoot magazine and various online football sites, but gave it up in 2012 when work commitments took over.
So, I’m going to blog again. Why not. Everybody seems to be at it these days and I thought it would be a nice way to document what could be an incredible chapter in the Wolves history books.
If anybody does read the blogs, I can promise that they won’t be a long-winded diatribe, but more of a snapshot of my thoughts on my beloved Wolves.
Thanks for stopping by. Follow me on Twitter @Wolvesblogger and let me know what you think of the blogs. I hope you enjoy them.
