Wolves vs Toffees 0-0 – Fan’s Analysis 29.03.10

Guts, heart, passion, energy and determination; that probably sums up Wolves performance in this game and perhaps sums-up their whole season.

Everton arrived as the in-form team of the Premiership and played some beautifully flowing and incisive football.

But they faced an equally good side in Wolves and although the game never really lived up to the billing, it was a relieved home crowd at the end when we escaped with a point.

For once, top billing didn’t go to Doyle, Jarvis or Jones. This time the star performers were at the back where Craddock, Zubar and especially Hahnemann played out of their skins to assure we gained another point in our quest for survival.

Quietly going about his business and playing perhaps his finest game in a Wolves shirt for me though was Karl Henry. It still winds me up when some fans have a moan about him. When will they realize that Karl is an absolute gem?

And I must have read half-a-dozen match reports in various papers and disgracefully Karl didn’t get a single mention.

The media seemed far more interested in discussing Fabio Capello’s scouting mission at Molineux and how he wouldn’t have seen anything from the men in blue to help make his mind up for his final World Cup squad.

Surely though if we do stay-up, which is looking more likely (no chickens hatched just yet though), then Fabio may well be on a mission to Molineux again next season.

Bur this time he will be there to check out the likes of Matt Jarvis and yes, may’be even Karl Henry who was outstanding on Saturday, not than anybody seemed to notice.

Six more games and next season’s top-flight Black Country derby could finally become a mouthwatering reality.
